 Fire Prevention Week: October 5-11, 2014


The aftermath of the Great Chicaco Fire, October 1871, resulted in over 300 deaths and 100,000 homeless. And despite great advances in building technology and fire prevention, a household fire occurs in the United States, on average, once every 83 seconds.

As a member of the National Fire Prevention Association, we want to be sure that you understand how easily a fire can occur and how quickly it can spread. But more importantly, we want to make to pass on some tips that can give you and your family a fighting chance of surviving a household fire.
