Our Story
Since our humble beginnings in Greenport in 1989, we have been serving the East End of Long Island with professional security and fire alarm services for local homes and businesses. Respected as an industry leader by our peers as well as the manufacturers we partner with, Suffolk Security Systems brings new and proven technology to help protect you, your family and assets.
We volunteer our time and our donations to dozens of local organizations, helping to improve lives and keep our community safe.
We are locally owned and not part of an "out-of-touch" franchise operation. That means we know our clients, understand their needs and accommodate them better than those "big box" or DIY companies. We are an active member of the Long Island Alarm Association, the Electronic Security Association and the National Fire Prevention Association.
Suffolk Security Systems is licensed by the New York State Department of State (# 12000250900).
We work proactively with local fire and police departments to promote the responsible use of alarm systems thus reducing false dispatches that waste valuable local emergency resources.
Paul J. Romanelli
President
Paul has been leading the charge at Suffolk Security Systems since 1999. He loves speaking with clients, generating great relationships and has a constant focus on technology improvements.
Active in the community, Paul has also served on the board of directors for the North Fork Chamber of Commerce and the North Fork Promotional Council. He is currently the Chairman of Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation, the fundraising arm of Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital.
In January 2022, Paul was awarded the Town of Southold's Business Person of the Year by the Suffolk Times.
Paul is an Eagle Scout as well as proud graduate of Villanova University (with an obsession for Wildcat Basketball).
Joanie
Office Administrator
Otherwise known in the office as "Mom," Joanie is responsible for maintaining client records, general bookkeeping and keeping our staff supplied with chocolate and other sweets. She has a quickdraw trigger finger for the telephone and is likely the first person you will hear when you call us. Don't be surprised if she affectionally calls you "Hon." It's one of her endearing qualities.

You'll always recognize Anthony from his big smile when he arrive at your door. Anthony is super neat on his installation work and loves to learn new things. We're thrilled to have him on our team.

Erick is that kind of guy that just wants to get to work and get the job done as efficiently as possible. He has a great focus on the tasks at hand and always has the finish line in his sights. Clients love his approach to assure them they will get a quality project done with him on the job.

Also known as "the silent one," Andrew is shadowing our more experienced technicians as he learns the ropes about proper installation, programming and the technology we deliver. Also an East End native, we're happy to have this young buck on our team.

Vassil likes to focus on "providing solutions." Actually, that's sort of his mantra. He's great at viewing the problems from 10,000 feet and then honing in on a best approach to serve you best. We encourage you to give him your greatest concern. We know he will provide a peace of mind solution.

Jose is an expert in grasping new technology. It's always enjoyable to see that "light bulb" go off above his head as he picks up the nuances of what we do each and every day. He respects the technology, the importance of protecting your home and your privacy.

Operations Manager
Soft-spoken and cool as a cucumber, Dave has over 30 year experience in the security and fire alarm industry. His focus is on planning out the schedules for our technicians and analyzing central station reports to keep our clients' systems operating smoothly. Anticipating issues before they arise is important and Dave is a master at this.

Brian has over twenty years of alarm service experience and loves working with our clients. He comes to work each morning excited and looking forward to a productive day. He is insightful and has a great ability to talk to clients and make modest suggestions that improve their security and life safety.
