Our Story
Since our humble beginnings in Greenport in 1989, we have been serving the East End of Long Island with professional security and fire alarm services for local homes and businesses. Respected as an industry leader by our peers as well as the manufacturers we partner with, Suffolk Security Systems brings new and proven technology to help protect you, your family and assets.
We volunteer our time and our donations to dozens of local organizations, helping to improve lives and keep our community safe.
We are locally owned and not part of an "out-of-touch" franchise operation. That means we know our clients, understand their needs and accommodate them better than those "big box" or DIY companies. We are an active member of the Long Island Alarm Association, the Electronic Security Association and the National Fire Prevention Association.

We work proactively with local fire and police departments to promote the responsible use of alarm systems thus reducing false dispatches that waste valuable local emergency resources.
Paul J. Romanelli
President
Paul Romanelli has been leading the charge at Suffolk Security Systems since 1999. He is passionate about building strong client relationships and continually advancing home and business security technology.
An active business leader, Paul serves on the board of directors for the North Fork Chamber of Commerce and is a former member of the North Fork Promotional Council. For a decade, he sat on the board of the Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation—the fundraising arm of Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital—serving as chairperson for five of those years.
In January 2022, Paul was named Business Person of the Year by The Suffolk Times. He continues his civic service as a member of the Town of Southold Economic Development Committee. Paul is also an Eagle Scout, an inductee into the Eagle Scout Hall of Fame (Class of 2026), and a proud Villanova University alumnus with a lifelong passion for Wildcat Basketball.
